Airport greeting service saves lives this summer

On Wednesday, Surf Life Saving Queensland chief operating officer George Hill will be presenting the Sunshine Coast Airport with a Lifesaving Award of Excellence for its key role in helping to save lives and prevent drownings through surf safety education and awareness.

With thanks to vital support from the Sunshine Coast Airport, the past summer has once again seen surf lifesavers stationed at the arrivals hall to greet passengers upon touch down and present them with multilingual information about how to stay safe while swimming at the beach.

Lifesavers have educated more than 100,000 people since the program’s inception.
