Queensland Cyclones go for gold at Pool Rescue Champs

The 2016 Queensland Cyclones Pool Rescue team has been named, with 24 athletes set to line up against the best-of-the-best at the Interstate Pool Rescue Championships across three days from August 5-7 on the Gold Coast.

Maroochydore is the most represented club with seven athletes achieving selection in the team, followed by Northcliffe (6) and Currumbin (5). A number of other clubs from across South East Queensland including Alexandra Headland, Kurrawa, Noosa, Tweed Heads and Coolangatta, and North Burleigh will also be represented within the team.

The Cyclones will be hoping to build on the strong results of their IRB counterparts, who took out their Interstate Championships at Mollymook in New South Wales in July.

The Pool Rescue Interstate Championships will be held at the Gold Coast Aquatic Centre in Southport.
