‘Red & Yellow Heroes’ documentary

For the past six months, the Marketing & Communications department at SLSQ has been working tirelessly with Network Ten to produce ‘Red & Yellow Heroes’.

‘Red & Yellow Heroes’ tells the story of the men, women and children who selflessly donate their time each year to watch over Queensland’s coastline and protect beachgoers across the state.

Hours of footage, production and editing have gone into this fantastic documentary, which will air nationally tomorrow, Saturday 6 September at 3pm on ONE HD.

Whilst it’s difficult to capture everything surf lifesaving does in the community in under one hour, ‘Red & Yellow Heroes’ will cover elements of SLSQ including lifesaving, nippers, surf sports, operations support (including night operations and helicopters), community programs, North Queensland (highlighting the varying conditions we work under), and the positive family environment surf lifesaving creates.

Its objective is to create a holistic view of the organisation, showcasing the depth of the services we provide to the community. Several member and staff interviews feature throughout the documentary.
