Belinda Doman has more than 25 years of experience in Surf Life Saving and would “100% recommend” anyone in a club management position to apply for Surf Life Saving Australia’s National Leaders Masterclass.
The Masterclass is an annual leadership and development program for members over the age of 30 who currently hold a senior leadership role within Surf Life Saving. Multicultural and Indigenous scholarships for the Masterclass are also available.
Doman attended the course at the University of South Australia last year, while in her role as Coolangatta Surf Life Saving Club’s Chief Training Officer.
“It was a fantastic opportunity to network and share ideas,” Doman told Surf Life Saving Queensland.
“We talked through common challenges we face and how other clubs have tackled them.”
Doman said the program allowed her and the other attendees to think more innovatively about how they can run their clubs.
“Anyone who is in a club management position and wants to learn more about strategic management and thinking should apply for it.”
Since December 2019, Doman has worked for Surf Life Saving Queensland as a Membership Training Manager.
The closing date for registrations for with SLSQ is July 3, 2020. The program will take place in South Australia between 10-13 September, 2020.
