SLSQ is saddened by the passing of Jerry Dennis

Surf Life Saving Queensland (SLSQ) is saddened by the passing of Jerry Dennis, an accomplished 17-year-old member of Northcliffe Surf Life Saving Club, today on the Gold Coast.

At 4pm this afternoon, Jerry joined members of the Northcliffe Surf Life Saving Club for a scheduled still-water training session at Mermaid Waters.
Unfortunately during the training session, which took place in a calm and controlled environment, Jerry was found to be displaced from his surf craft, and after some time and effort, was unable to be revived. The circumstances around the incident are under investigation by the Queensland Police Service and the State Coroner.

Oh behalf of Surf Life Saving Queensland, President Ralph Devlin offered his deepest sympathies to Jerry’s family and friends, members of the Northcliffe SLSC and to the wider Surf Life Saving community.

Jerry was a talented young, yet accomplish athlete who had a bright future in surf lifesaving ahead of him. Peer support services have been offered to the Surf Life Saving community.
